Menu Plan Monday: Week of September 15th

If you read my last post, you know that I needed to make menu planning a regular event again.  I am getting so bogged down by wanting so desperately to be frugal and wise with our family's finances...that I have become a "bargain shopping perfectionist".  Which means I *hate* to shop unless I feel I am prepared with a list of the best deals, what we need and the coupons that match.  This turns out to be a raw deal for the family, as we actually had to make multiple runs to the [expensive] in-town market for dinner fixings or for take out because I just hadn't gone shopping yet.  Ugh.

So here we are!  I am happy to be getting back on this train.  Posting our plans online make things more "real" and I am much more likely to stick to things this way.

Sunday:  Visiting hubby's parents in VT, had dinner there.

Monday:  Crock pot dinner, as I have my first Girl Scout Leader meeting at 6 pm -- Pork roast in the slow cooker, mashed potatoes, corn & rolls.

Tuesday:  Connor has soccer practice from 6-7 pm, so again...a quick dinner is planned for after we return.  Crescent Mummy Dogs (from Pillsbury), raw veggies.

Wednesday:  Pizza Pasta Bake,  garlic bread, salad.  Looks delish (thanks Homesteading Housewife!) and only 9 hours of exercise to burn it off.  Awesome.  LOL

Thursday:  Chicken Pot Pie (from Happy to be at Home)

Friday:  Leftover buffet

Saturday:  First soccer game for Connor, first home football game at Dartmouth.  Quick lunch on the go in between -- grilling when we get home for dinner.

Lunchbox treats for the kids this week:  Smiley Appleshome-made lunchables, mini fruit & cheese kebobs, Scotcheroos (from Vanilla Joy).

Have a great week, and check out Laura's I'm an Organizing Junkie site for even more fab menu plans!

Great ideas. I'm always looking for an easy, quick and tasty supper. You definitely know what on the go means!

I have to laugh because this sounds like my family of 6 on a grocery trip. We don't do it often. My kids get the little mini shopping carts, I look behind me and they are full! I am like where did you get all this? My husband is laughing - I am frantic, where are my coupons??? I sympathize.

Your Pizza Pasta Bake definitely sounds like something the monsters would like.

Have a great week!

I try to do the one big shopping trip, with all the stuff I need for the meals on the list and the coupons to go with them. Sometimes I succeed, sometimes not.

I love to have a weekly menu. It helps so much to be prepared for the week and to know exactly what you need once you get to the store.
