We had a fun holiday with family and friends, and are looking forward to more playdates soon! During the past week or so, we did stop at the fast food places twice. Research! LOL
Zachary's B-day dinner (of his choice, per Thompson family tradition) was from McDonalds. Current options for toys are Transformers and Littlest Pet Shop. There are 6 different versions of each category. The Happy Meal bags have a $5 off $19.99 Transformers toy purchase, plus something I did not notice before -- a code to plug into on a web site (a la Webkinz) to create a character and their environment. We didn't play around with it, but will likely try it in the past. According to the official Happy Meal web site, next up are Spy Gear and Polly Pocket toys.
Wendy's currently offers an assortment of toys tied to an upcoming movie release of Journey to the Center of the Earth. A sneak peek from their official Kids Meal web site shows that we can look forward to a great prize -- Magic Tree House audio books. By the way, I signed up for "WendyMail" and today I received a coupon by email for $1 off a "premium hamburger", just a FYI! It let me click-through and print twice...similar to most bricks coupons out there.
Our old Burger King has been successfully demolished, and construction is moving forward as planned for their late summer/early fall re-opening. In the mean time, I heard via Hungry Girl that BK will be adding "fresh apple fries" as an optional side dish (instead of regular fries). This sounds similar to the Apple Dippers at McDonalds, and I assume it will replace the strawberry applesauce that our kids usually pick. They also plan to offer Kraft Mac & Cheese as an option...interesting! Looks like the current (?) toy starting today may be Pokemon cards. Can't confirm in real life, sorry.
How are the kids meal toys being reviewed at your house...any "winners"?
